Fred Moses has been appointed as District Emergency Coordinator (DEC) for District 3. He succeeds Max Schneider, who was filling the role temporarily.
A Michigan native, Fred W8FSM has been licensed since 2000. He has a background in computers and RF networking, and is a staunch believer in community service, most notably helping to support the MS Bike Ride events in Michigan. Fred completed AUXCOMM training in 2019, and recently completed his position task book for AUXC. Fred is a director of the Central Michigan Emergency Network, and the assistant DEC of operations for the Michigan Inter-County Organizational Network (MICON) out of the White Lake office of the National Weather Service.
In his spare time, Fred is also actively pursuing the #1 position for Michigan operators in Volunteers on the Air (VOTA).
